Usagi Tsukino, the star of Sailor Moon, is the root of an intricate family tree. As the daughter of Ikuko and Kenji Tsukino with her brother Shingo, she has two guardians who granted her special powers – Luna, a talking black cat responsible for transforming Usagi into Sailor Moon; followed by Artemis as a white cat granting her access to transform into Super Sailor Moon.
Usagi’s closest companions are Ami Mizuno (the intelligent student who can transform into Sailor Mercury), Rei Hino (a miko at Hikawa Shrine, with the capacity to become Sailor Mars), Makoto Kino (an audacious gal capable of transforming into Sailor Jupiter), Minako Aino, Chibiusa, and Michiru Kaioh. Together they make an incredible team!
Minako is an idol and up-and-coming vocalist, gifted with the remarkable ability to transform into Sailor Venus. Chibiusa journeys from the future as Usagi’s daughter, empowered by her metamorphosis into Sailor Chibi Moon. A natural virtuoso of music, Michiru possesses a magical aptitude for transmuting herself into Sailor Neptune.
Usagi has several family members, such as her beloved grandmother Hino; her cousin Naru Osaka and father Motoki Furuhata; plus Aunt Satsuki, the older sister of Ikuko, who is married to Usagi’s uncle.
The Sailor Moon cast of characters includes two of Usagi’s greatest foes, Queen Beryl and Queen Metallia. As the main antagonist from the beginning saga, Queen Beryl is a mighty force with intentions to rule the Earth. Alongside her stands an even more powerful ruler from beyond space and time; none other than Queen Metallia–the central opponent in this epic tale! With help from their loyal minions Kunzite, Zoisite, Nephrite, Jadeite as well as Four Kings of Heaven they are undefeatable adversaries determined to take over humanity.
Accompanying Usagi in her mission to vanquish evil is the valiant Sailor Senshi. This band of magical girls, including Tuxedo Mask – a mysterious champion who provides aid to Usagi; Chibi Chibi – an enigmatic young person linked with Sailor Moon somehow; and the Shitennou, four formidable warriors from the moon kingdom- stand united against darkness.
To complete Usagi’s family tree, there are several other characters that have not been mentioned. These include her future self, Neo Queen Serenity; Earth prince King Endymion who is also Usagi’s future husband; and the guardians of Chibiusa—Sailor Pluto, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Neptune. Further expanding it even more are characters from alternate dimensions such as Galaxia and Phantom whose ties to this family tree remain unknown.
